With over 25 years in the interior design industry, Cathy brings a wealth of personal experience and practical knowledge to every project she undertakes. From yacht interiors, to award winning hospitality renovations, storefront visual displays, government projects and residential interiors, Cathy has worked around the US and the Caribbean. The scope of her work has expanded all areas of design.

At age 18, Cathy began in her career working in visual display for McRae's Department Stores and Foxmoor Casuals in Pensacola, Fl. Once married, she moved to San Diego, CA where Cathy continued in visual display working for "The Bed & Bath Company”. Then, she started an interior design firm, “Sand & Sea Interiors”, specializing in yachts and commercial design.  With a move to Texas she started “Cathy Walsh Interiors”, a firm focused on continuing in commercial and entering into residential design.  Another move east brought her to Virginia Beach, where she worked as a Design Consultant for Blaney's  and JC Penney Custom Decorating.  After a brief stay in Key West, a move back to Virginia Beach brought Cathy to Guy's Inc., a boutique upholstery house in Norfolk, VA where she was the Lead Designer. It was here that she earned her reputation as an elite designer capable of tackling any project. In 2004, due to family needs, Cathy left Guy's Inc and formed a new interior design company, CWI...Designs for Living. Cathy concentrated on residential design creating inviting, family friendly, functional interiors for her clients. Over the next six years, her home based business continued to grow and in 2010, she opened her first retail store, an exclusive Boutique and Interior Design Studio, The Sterling Seahorse, LLC..

Cathy spent her youth traveling the world.  Her eclectic life exposure and natural affinity for elements of design and aesthetics led Cathy to a career in Interior Design. Her loves of clean lines, quality design, and intriguing products have surfaced in many homes throughout Hampton Roads and around the country. She loves the challenge of working with clients existing pieces to incorporate the artifacts they love with new elements to form workable design solutions.
